In Loving Memory of Marcos Francisco Valencia March 25, 1983 – June 13, 2026 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Marcos Francisco Valencia on June 13, 2026. Marcos was born on March 25, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, to Francisco and Margarita Valencia. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to San Bernardino, where he was raised, and built the foundation of the life he would come to cherish. Marcos had a lifelong love for motorcycles. The open road brought him a sense of peace, freedom, and adventure that few things in life could match. He often shared that if his time ever came, he hoped it would be while doing what he loved most. Though his passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of those who loved him, there is solace in knowing he spent his final moments doing what made him feel most alive: riding beneath the open sky, with the wind on his face and freedom in his soul. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Marcos served as a Lance Corporal (LCpl) and deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in 2005 during the Iraq War. He served in Force Protection, providing security for Camp Fallujah, and was a member of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) a highly mobile, mission-ready unit trained to respond rapidly to threats, civil disturbances, and emergencies. Marcos spent approximately a year in Iraq, serving his country with courage, honor, and unwavering commitment. He wore the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor with pride, permanently inked on his shoulder as a symbol of his dedication to the Marine Corps and in commemoration of his fallen brothers. He upheld the law with honor, fought battles most will never know, lived by a code, and led by example. His service to both his country and community reflected the character of a man who believed deeply in duty, integrity, and sacrifice. Marcos also proudly served his community for nearly 14 years at the Victorville Federal Correctional Complex, where he earned the respect of both his colleagues and those whose lives he touched. Beyond his service, Marcos was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Family was the center of his world. He leaves behind his dedicated, beloved wife, Charlotte Valencia; his children, Nicholas, Katherine, Christina, and Rebecca Valencia; and his stepchildren, Madison Delgado and Quinn Smith. He is also survived by his parents, Francisco and Margarita Valencia; his siblings, Maria, Cristina, Martin Elvis, Amilene, Luis, and Martin Gilberto Valencia; four nieces; three nephews; extended family; and countless friends whose lives were forever enriched by his presence. Marcos found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved home-cooked meals, especially eggs and beans, and never started a day without a hot cup of coffee. He looked forward every year to the homemade Jell-O cake his mother lovingly made for his birthday. He enjoyed cooking, learning about the law, and was in the process of completing his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, with aspirations of attending law school. Those who knew Marcos will remember his authenticity, loyalty, and unmistakable dry sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh, putting others at ease, and bringing people together. He was genuine, hardworking, and fiercely protective of those he loved. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the legacy Marcos leaves behind will never be forgotten. His strength, courage, love, and dedication will continue to live on through his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Semper Fidelis. Once a Marine, always a Marine.
