IN LOVING MEMORY OF James Roger Weaver November 16, 1944 – August 1, 2026 James (Jim) Roger Weaver, beloved father, grandfather and U.S. Army veteran, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the age of 81. Jim was born on November 16, 1944, in Searcy, Arkansas to the late Herman Franklin Burkhead, Jr. and Marjorie Juanita Griffin. Jim’s military service was an important and honorable chapter in his life, reflecting the courage, dedication, and sense of duty that he carried with him throughout the years. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, and during his service in Vietnam, he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. His family will forever be grateful for his service and the sacrifices he made in defense of our country. After returning home from his military service, Jim devoted himself to building a successful career and above all a loving family. He spent many years as an executive in the heavy equipment rental industry, where his intelligence, leadership, dedication and strong work ethic earned him the respect of those who worked alongside him. While Jim took great pride in his career, his greatest joy was his family. To his daughter, he was more than a father. He was a source of guidance, strength, and unconditional love. He cherished his role as a grandfather and took great pride in his grandchildren and the lives they were building. He treasured time spent with family, enjoyed sharing laughter and stories, and was always ready with thoughtful advice or a helping hand. Jim will be remembered for his caring and generous heart, his sharp wit, his strength of character, and the love he so freely gave to those around him. The lessons he taught, the values he lived by, and the memories he created will remain with his family for generations to come. He is survived by his daughter, Alina Rene (Weaver) Pfutzenreuter, son-in-law, Mark Clinton Pfutzenreuter, grandchildren, Alexa Fae Pfutzenreuter and Blake James Pfutzenreuter and many dear family friends who were fortunate to know him. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 12:45PM, where Jim will be laid to rest with the dignity and honor earned through his service to our country. Jim’s life was one of service, hard work, love and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
